GUIDED. We are very well known for our backcountry treks in Santa Fe.   The full day experience is strenuous, and includes backcountry hiking in rainforest in the park with several river crossings to a remote pool & falls. The half-day experience is a river based hike.  Finally, the two hour hike is a beginning backcountry hike, with a slower pace, but difficult terrain.  We limit group size to six our less.  SIngle participant supplement 50%.

GUIDED. 1.5-2hrs. Our community based coffee cooperative in Santa Fe is unique.  Try our two local brands of Coffee produced in Santa Fe, paired with a private overview of community based coffee production in our small, demonstration plot followed by a car based tour with stops of production in the area.  Visit production plant dependent on current biosecurity methods in place.    Cost: $30 adults (12+) / $25 children (aged 3+).  Infants and toddlers 0-3 are free.

SELF GUIDED.  We offer two river tubing options

Adventure tubing + Dinner (3hrs). Saturday & Sunday ONLY.  ($28 pp, ages 8+ – must be a good swimmer, safety is your responsibility, RAIN cancels).  12PM onwards.

Spend the afternoon on the river!  Float down the Santa Maria River, through pools and rapids for about 3km (1.5-2hrs) until you reach Brisas del Norte, a family friendly open air restaurant/bar.  You will be met by food and a beer or soda! (choice of chicken, a traditional picada to share, or salad). Additional drinks (soda or beer) for purchase. Transport back to Coffee Mountain Inn when you are ready

Adventure Tubing – Short Run (1.5hrs)

Enjoy a self-guided short run on the river (1 hr on river) $16pp.  Includes tube rental and transportation. Participants have the option of leaving their car at the takeout point (we help shuttle you) and self driving back to the inn when you are done with tubing, allowing more flexibility for exploring the river, or setting a specific time for us to pick you up at take out point.

We offer a half day birding tour in Santa Fe National Park and the surrounding zone. We alter our routes based on participant interest and mobility. 6:30am – 10:30am.  Packed breakfast included.

Cost: $60 /pp 

Offered During High Season: Guided all-day trip by car, hitting the highlights of Santa Fe. We travel through the two National Parks, along the indigenous Comarca to the remote wind-swept coast of Calovebora.  Depending on mobility of participants, stops include a guided hike with a naturalist through primary rainforest to waterfall in Santa Fe National Park, a short boat ride along the coast (weather dependent), and a picnic ‘catch of the day’ lunch on the beach. Limit 5 participants.

Cost: $165/pp 

Add on: $550 for group Day trip to Escudo de Veraguas (weather dependent).  If this add on is chosen, a trip to the Escudo (approx 1.5-2hrs one way) will take the place of the 1hr boat ride.  Please understand that we can not go to the Escudo in bad weather.  The $550 will be refunded.

We launched our overnight experiences in 2016, and they are extremely well received by those  looking for a unique experience.  We explore by horseback and foot remote communities and the National Park. These are suitable for school aged children through adults.
